Product Description

There are two basic types of footbridges:

  • The entire structure is prefabricated, including columns and wing-shaped beams on ramps and landings, as well as the footbridge crossing.
  • The entire structure is prefabricated, including columns, hollow-core slabs and landings and wing-shaped beams in the crossing zone. The hollow-core slab must have a compression layer applied on-site.

Main Characteristics

  • Wing-shaped sections: lightweight closed cellular section with porexpan inside.
  • Hollow-core slab section: prestressed hollow-core slab measuring 0.25 m deep and 1.20 m wide.
  • Column sections: rectangular or circular.
  • Possible footbridge widths with wing-shaped beams: 1.50 m, 2.00 m, 2.50 m and 3.00 m.
  • Width of ramps with hollow-core slabs: 2.50 m
  • Depths of wing-shaped beams: 1.20 m, 1.215 m.
  • Depth of hollow-core slab: 0.25 m plus 0.05 m compression layer.
  • Length of landings: 5.50 m if wing-shaped beams are used, 4.90 m with hollow-core slab.
  • Spans of up to 40 m can be reached with wing-shaped beams. In ramps with hollow-core slab, the span is approximately 8 m.

Types Of Structures Where It Can Be Used

  • Adapts to numerous geometric shapes, in the plan view, as the ends of the wing-shaped beams and the hollow-core slab can be oblique.
  • Spans are isostatic.

Main Applications

  • Pedestrian footbridges to cross over roads, highways, rail tracks, etc.

Advantages

  • Large spans are achieved for footbridges that must cross over wide highways.
  • Slender, aesthetically appealing solutions.

Construction Details

  • The wing-shaped beam has a single support on a column or on an abutment.
  • Standard edging on the beams to solve angled joints.
  • Columns with standard corbels at the top to support two hollow-core slabs.
  • Most common span length between supports is from 8.0 to 35.0 m.
