Over the month of December 2018, PACADAR visited South Korea to meet with the main construction and EPC companies and present the capacity of PACADAR and the latest PACADAR international projects such as the manufacturing of the Thames Tideway Tunnel Central Section tunnel lining in London and the construction of the International Terminal of the new Kuwait Airport, all of this making use of the most modern technology for the production of precast concrete pieces of great volume and strength.

During the event we presented our new patented modular wind tower system SSTT (Small Segments Tall Tower), which allows the installation of high power turbines with rotor diameter and hub heights (>HH100 -HH180m).

On October 6th, engineers from China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd visited PACADAR PANAMA's facilities, where the manufacturing of the beams for Panama's subway lines 1 and 2 has been carried out.
China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd is an engineering contractor and a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company, which provides construction infrastructure, marine engineering, dredging and recovery, roads and bridges, railways, airports and industrial plants construction.

Pacadar UK exhibited on the 9th and 10th October 2018 at the BTS 2018 Conference, Queen Elizabeth II Hall, Westminster, London. The event was the UK´s largest tunneling exhibition, a brilliant meeting point for everyone involved in the design, construction and operation/maintenance of today´s underground infrastructure. David Díaz Avellaneda, Mohamed Ellaboudy & Carlos Mendoza Contreras answered questions and pitched to exhibitors, delegates and visitors....

On Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 October at the Queen Elizabeth II Hall, Westminster, London. PACADAR UK will be present at BTS Conference and Exhibition 2018. The two-day conference will be attended by world class, international industry suppliers and on display will be the very latest in tunnelling technology. It will be held in October this year, with the principal aim of discussing improvements in infrastructure and the use of underground solutions, in response to major challenges and needs in today's UK market.

PACADAR has carried out the execution of the thermal center of Cofrentes Spa extension.
In this structure, different precast concrete elements such as beams, pillars, walls and core floor slabs were used. The core floor slabs of up to 12 meters long, allowed to create more diaphanous areas and therefore more spacious and brighter.

The "Second story of the Mexico-Puebla highway" structure in Mexico was executed by MEXPREPAC, a subsidiary of PACADAR in Mexico.
The section executed by MEXPREPAC was 6.40 km long, 21.00 m wide with four branches of variable width with a length of 1.00 km.

With these lines we intend to clarify two similar concepts that tend to be confused in our sector: precasting/prefabrication and industrialization.
If we look up the term "prefabrication" in the Cambridge Dictionary, we are referred to the verb "prefabricate", whose definition is: "Manufacture sections of (a building or piece of furniture) to enable quick assembly on site". Furthermore, we can also use the adjectives “prefabricated”, “prefab” or “precast” for structures or elements that are manufactured in this way.
Therefore, when we carry out a precast construction project, in the final location we only perform the assembly of the previously manufactured pieces. Obviously, there may be projects with a higher or lower degree of precasting, and this degree of precasting is inversely proportional to the waste generated on site: the more waste, the less prefabrication.

Pacadar begins the assembly of precast elements for the Johan Cruyff Stadium (Miniestadi, meaning in English "Mini Stadium"), for F.C. Barcelona.
The Construction Company responsible for the Project is COMSA, which has contracted PACADAR for the production and assembly of the precast concrete elements that make up the Project (Columns, Beams, Grandstands, Raker Beams, Stairs, Hollow-core Slabs, etc.).

At the end of last year, Pacadar sealed its commitment with the joint venture Ferrovial Agromán-Laing O’Rourke for the manufacture of the rings that will make up the lining for the central section of the Thames Tideway Tunnel. With its 12.7 km in length, it is the longest section in this sewerage infrastructure for the British capital.
The lining configuration will be made up of 7,044 rings with a total precast concrete volume of 114,000 m3 and manufacturing started early this year. Once the ramp up period is completed, PACADAR U.K. is manufacturing an average rate of 15 rings a day.

Pacadar supplies precast beams for the Malaga metro in the frame of the construction of the track infrastructure and superstructure for lines 1 and 2, in the section: Guadalmedina – Atarazanas. The project has the particular feature that it is carried out in two phases.
The construction company responsible for the project is the joint venture Metro Atarazanas, formed by the companies Sando and Acciona, and which has obtained the certification of Technological Innovation in R+D+i for the design of a construction method that safeguards the archaeological remains found.
